The fresh ginger can be store for long time (for about three months) by breaking it apart, peeling the pieces, and storing them covered in a jar. Chilled fresh ginger roots can be kept for ten days only.

Fresh ginger juice: Fresh ginger juice is very popular in India. Fresh ginger requires particular temperature, humidity/moisture and ventilation conditions. To extract the juice from fresh ginger, first the ginger rhizome is collected in fresh form.
